Over Ons
Onze familie, de familie Symeonidis, bestaat uit de broers Dimitris en Nikos,
getrouwd met Elena Xenidou en Martha Bei.
Wij kwamen voor het eerst op het idee toen wij naar Nederland verhuisden in de
zomer van 2017. We merkten dat de regio Zuid-Limburg een fris en nieuw
horeca-concept kon gebruiken met daarin traditionele gerechten uit de originele
Griekse keuken, maar dan in een nieuw jasje, met een moderne aankleding en
een divers aanbod waarbij kwaliteit voorop staat!
Dimitris heeft in meerdere Griekse restaurants in Limburg gewerkt om uit eerste
hand te leren over de werkwijze van regionale restaurants. Wij samen, als team
hebben uitgewerkt wat wij konden toevoegen en op welke manier wat wij onszelf
op een unieke manier zouden kunnen onderscheiden met ons eigen restaurant.
Daarom besloten wij om een nieuw koffie-cocktail-food bar-restaurant concept te
creëren.
In de zomer van 2020 was het dan zover, we vonden een ideaal gelegen plek in
het prachtige Valkenburg. Wij noemden onze zaak ‘’MENTA’’ wat in het Grieks
‘’Munt’’ betekent. Munt is dan ook het hoofdingrediënt voor veel van onze unieke
gerechten én originele cocktails op onze kaart!
COVID-19
Als gevolg van de beperkingen is MENTA momenteel enkel geopend om uw
bestelling af te halen.
Wij hebben natuurlijk alle nodige Covid-19 maatregelen genomen zodat u, en
onze andere klanten op een geruste en veilige manier toch kunnen genieten van
ons kwaliteitsaanbod.
Wanneer MENTA de deuren mag mogen voor bezoekers, hetzij een beperkt
aantal, zullen er tafels op gepaste afstand van elkaar zijn gearrangeerd en zijn er
op meerdere plekken ontsmettingsgels toegankelijk voor u!

The idea of MENTA was originally created the summer of 2020 but the plans for it had already taken place since 2017. Symeonidis family, Dimitris and Nikos, with their wives Elena Xenidou and Martha Bei came up with the idea when they first moved to the Netherlands. They noticed that the area Limburg needed a fresh new restaurant with original 2020 greek cuisine. Furthermore, a decoration in the venture that is not old fashioned and heavy, providing an atmosphere that they thought to be not an accurate representation of the Greek culture and cuisine. Hence, they decided to create a new fresh coffee-bar-restaurant combing all the above, with quality both in the service and the food and drinks. Dimitris has also worked in a couple of Greek restaurants in Limburg in order to have a first-hand experience about the way they are operating and how he could improve matters for when the time of his own restaurant would come.
Early in 2020, the idea started to take form and actions were taken to find the correct location and building for the idea to materialize. Throughout this time, the key members of the team were constantly thinking of ways that they could be different from the other traditional Greek restaurants that were already operating in the area. Finally, in the summer of 2020 the team found an ideally located spot in Plenkertstraat 4 in Valkenburg. The team named the company MENTA, which in Greek means ‘mint’, and it will be the main ingredient for most of the drinks and dishes the restaurant will be offering.
MENTA is going to be unique because there is no other Greek-related restaurant which also works as a café and cocktail bar, combining quality food with original beverages.
COVID-19
As we all know, we are going through a tough period due to the coronavirus crisis.
In MENTA, we will make sure that all necessary measures are taken so that the customers can enjoy their time in the venture and also feel safe. There will be signs and sanitiser gels in multiple locations in the store so the people can clean their hands before and after they have any contact within the establishment. Also, a specific amount of people will be allowed in the restaurant. Of course, this will not be the total amount of people in normal period, but it will be reduced so that the necessary distance is obtained. Currently due to the HORECA lock down, MENTA operates as a take-away coffee-restaurant making sure that the quality of the products is still as perfect as it will be when restaurants can be open again.
